Take a trip to the Information Center for Tourists right below Omokdae and get a map and go about 100 meters towards Chonju-Core Riviera Hotel along the road called Suldoga-gil, then there is the Jeonju Traditional Wine Museum in a well constructed hanok, right behind the hotel.
It is a kind of theme museum which is run to restore and modernize the traditional brewing methods of home-made wines, which each family brewed to treat guests and to use at the time of ancestor-memorial ceremonies. Not only could visitors learn the history and culture of our traditional wines, but also experience brewing and tasting them. A replica of Poseokjeong (which is in Gyeongju where the kings of Shilla shared wines with their subjects) in the yard is shining beautifully in the sunbeams under the eaves of the hanok. |
